good buy for a first r/c car
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this car for my son age 2+. He loves it and plays with it a good bit. He just giggles and runs after it. It bounces off things without and damage. The only quirk it has is, it runs by itself sometimes for a few seconds. Haunted car effect. That gets him laughing harder and gets him to play again. I purchased 2 more to give as christmas gifts. This is a great first car after toddler types.
Didn’t work for me either

I just bought one of these at a discount retailer and tried it out while my sons weren’t home. It wouldn’t do a thing. I tested the 4AA battery pack with a volt meter, got the expected voltage, so concluded there is something wrong with the car itself. Came to amazon to see what the reviews were like, and now I know why the discounter had so many available! Very glad a few people had success with it, but I plan on returning this one and won’t bother with getting another one.
Cool RC Car
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
It stinks that the other person didn’t enjoy this. My 3 yr old son got this for a Christmas present and we just took it out of the box today. Totally cool! It lights up while doing flips, circles and more. This is definitely one of the craziest RC cars ever. The best thing is that the wheels are rubber so it bounces off everything! He loves it. I got on the web to see where they bought it so we could buy it for a birthday present. Definitely a unique and cool find!
Bummed

MY son dropped the car the day he got it and it broke the top wheel off. THere is also a short so it goes for a few minutes and then it does not.
Great car – fun for 3 year olds and older
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Our son got this for his 4th birthday, and at first I put it away because I was thinking it would be too hard to control. He found it in our closet and it is actually really easy to control and a lot of fun. Not sure what happened with the other reviewer, but this car has been great for us. We have an 18 month old in the house and my 3 year old nephew can easily control it. It’s been very durable and we haven’t even had to replace the battery yet after 3 months.
great toy for the price

I got two of these from my local Sears store. I was wary of buying on line after seeing all the reliability problems people were having. Mine worked great and I gave them a lot of abuse, and even tried to pull off a wheel, and had no problems. They seem very sturdy. These are made in China, and I have spent a lot of time in China and I know there can be different qualities of what look like the same product. But some are the real product and some are a cheap imitation, but very difficult to tell by looking at it. I suspect this is the reason for the variable reviews here. I would stick to a large reputable retailer. The third party sellers tend to get things from various sources in China that can be of varying quality.
The only thing I found to warn you of is they require fresh batteries. At first I put in some batteries that had already seen some use and the car would not even move.
Fun but Doesn’t Last

We got two of these for Christmas presents for the kids. They are very fun. The boys were howling with excitement. But the cars broke easily. One is broken in half, and the other has a battery problem. If you want to give the kids a kick for a party or something, this would be a hit. But if you want something they can play with for many months, find something more durable.
Piece of junk!!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
While I didn’t buy this on amazon.com I wanted to write a review anyway. I got it at JC Penny’s the day after Thanksgiving for $13.00. It isn’t worth $5.00. I bought this for my son and as soon as I took it out of the box I could tell it was crap, but I thought I’d see if it would be better than I thought. I should have gone with my first impression and put it right back in the box and returned it. The antenna didn’t screw on tight. The car worked well for about a day and then it started to have very jerky movements and the “trick” button didn’t make it flip up anymore. I will be taking this back and getting something else for my son. Don’t waste your money on this piece of junk.
Bad Unreliable Toy
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
We got 2 of these (one blue, one black) for our kids for Christmas. The black one did not work at all right out of the box. The blue one worked for maybe 4 minutes before the left wheel no longer worked. Two out of two bad = bad unreliable toy.
The wheels come right off!!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Both my sons received one of these for Christmas and within 15 minutes of playing with it, a wheel broke off. We were able to get it to stay on temporarily, but then the other one came off! Fun toy, but not durable or well made!
Thunder DUD RC Car — phhttttttt!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
If you delight in disappointed children, multiple product returns, and general irritation, this is the RC car for you! Seriously…I exchanged / purchased these 3 times from 2 different retailers, and not one worked properly. The first one would drive forwards only, no tumble or light-up action, and would only do this much intermittently. The second moved about 1/8″ when we test-drove it, then wouldn’t do anything else…also, zero lights. The third followed in the predecessor’s footsteps (leading further and further from customer satisfaction) and wouldn’t do anything at all. We tried multiple sets of brand-new batteries (it comes w/ a 9V for the remote, but you supply the 4AA’s…we replaced all) to no avail. I am really disappointed b/c this looked like the perfect rough-and-tumble RC car for my perfect rough-and-tumble little nephew.
Bad Toy
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I am employed at a store that requires us to play with this product on a daily basis. In less than a month we have opened at least twelve new Thunder Tumblers with varying degrees of success. I would estimate that 1 in 5 actually works normally brand new out of the box. The other four may have bad wiring and work in short bursts or I had one where when I drove it into its first spin the back tire flew off and rolled about 50 feet before hitting a wall with a decent amount of force. Over all I feel this toy is unsuitable for anyone and could even be dangerous with parts that fly off randomly.
Not surprised to see the garbage reviews this toy got- my son used it for a few days, LOVED it, then crashed into a wall and the thing broke into 3 pieces!!! We wanted to glue it together to see if it would still work, but the internal wires are no longer attached! My son is devastated!!
